The Santa Monica Baykeeper was changing their name to the LA Waterkeeper and the newly renamed environmental advocate group was looking to upgrade the non-profit website alongside the big name change reveal. The new branding would need to be visible throughout the site including the logo and color palette. The website would need to be built on the WordPress platform so that staff could update the blog and front page news stories.
In addition the environmental watch group needed supplemental maps to be created showing the proposed/ protected/ endangered and fragile marine areas around the California coastline. These would be distributed throughout the California network of environmental groups associated with the LA Waterkeeper and San Diego Coastkeeper.
Custom WordPress theme development and graphics were created for this website. In order to build a workhorse of a website for the client, I had to really understand what role the group was needing the website to play in the rebranding, email list generation, and any other functionality add-ons.
