PROJECT BRIEF
Identity for Bay Area metal band, No Trust. The band members were recording their first album so they needed a logo, graphics for the album artwork and merch. They sent me an image of an ouroboros they had painted and wanted me to use it as inspiration. I liked the idea of the snake eating itself, but it felt more of an inward facing distrust and I felt it needed to be more outward facing. Nothing breeds more distrust than a rattlesnake. Best way to solve the problem of a rattlesnake biting you, cut its head off. So with that as a starting point, this is what I came up with, a cool type treatment and a modular approach to the logo that could be used with or without the rattlesnake graphic. Below are some of the ways the band enjoyed using the logo on merch, marketing collateral and the album artwork.
